“Students were thoroughly engaged throughout the experience and were particularly proud to share information about family members who had been involved in wars around the world.

Following the visit, students continued these conversations at home, speaking with family members to learn more about relatives who had served in wars and the roles and responsibilities they undertook.

These rich discussions, both at home and at school, have provided students with greater exposure to personal and historical perspectives. As a result, students have developed a stronger understanding of historical events and experiences, which they have been able to incorporate effectively and authentically into their historical fiction writing.

Thank you for the opportunity.”

“Paul Dobbyn’s book, War Spoils, offers our students access to primary sources fundamental to their learning around World War 2. Our Year 10 History students will be able to utilise the book to assist them in their research for the World War 2 assessment task- a direct link to the Australian Curriculum. War Spoils provides our students with an understanding of the impact war had on our local region and people.”
